I made a lot of drawings like this, proposals for sculptures. I was more comfortable with the semblance of mathematical control. I couldn’t draw observationally to save my life, still can’t. As can be seen, the ghost of this drawing reappeared many years later in the basement years, the ‘circus’ piece. This I’ve done all my life, recycling ideas, reusing bits as references to earlier ideas, part of the process of ‘layering’ the work, even if I’m the only one who is aware of the cross referencing . |
