Donna Trope was a friend of  Dick's over from New York. She arrived with nothing and no contacts other than Dick. She found out who were the artists on the scene, phoned and asked to take a portrait, that's Patrick Proctor in the lower image, the front of her invite card. She is centre in the top image. Meanwhile she advertised as a person who could take portfolio photos for budding models. It was commonplace to come there in the evening and find Donna taking pictures of 15 year old girls, mostly black, I seem to remember, on the stairs or draped over a painting. The images were different enough that she got quite a bit of work. Her opening was a great success; the vanity of artists is such that most turned up to see themselves. She showed her work to the Mail, I think, and got work shooting fashion. In less than six months she bought a floor of a warehouse. Brillliant.

On the right shows how fast the turnover was and a lot of work was required to organise it all. My memory is that I did most of it, though, no doubt, others will have different memories.
