There was a certain male/female thing going. My Dissertation was entitled 'The Position Of Women in Culture and Society: The Basis and Nature of Their Oppression and the Feminist Movement.' Fences, barriers, jumping through hoops, a combatative feel, delicate balance/poise and perhaps a sense of immanence. The leitmotif was a book by Elizabeth Smart 'By Grand Central Station I Sat Down and Wept'.
