I got to know Tony pretty well at Wimbledon. My two mates were Tony and Glyn, who were incompatible. They had no patience with each other and were chalk and cheese.

The photo on the left was taken in 72. Debbie in the picture we both had a thing with, I think. It's hard to remember my hippy days.

Tony introduced me to yoghurt. I'd never heard of it. He showed me this jar of rancid milk he kept in his wardrobe, he eat the stuff every morning. I passed.

More images from the trip to Climping. Roger Ackling, in the hat, was a painting tutor I never really got to know. Years later he taught my son Marcus at Chelsea. Marcus thought he was brilliant and even bought one of his 'burn' drawings at an auction.
